GUM Clinics and Point of Care Testing

CPA assessors are sometimes required to assess GUM clinics as part of the application for accreditation.  It has been agreed that GUM Clinics should be assessed in a similar way to other Point of Care Testing facilities.

The use of a nurse for interpretative work will not necessarily be inappropriate providing adequate training has been given and support is available.  It should be noted that the same would not apply for a non state registered MLA.
