C4 Facilities for storage

C4.1 There shall be separate storage facilities, as required, for:

b) clinical material

c) blood and blood products

f) reagents

Any decision to store these materials within the same large cold room should be made on the basis of a risk assessment.

Physically separate shelves should be used for these separate categories of materials. Where practical these should be in different parts of the cold room.

The shelves should be clearly labelled to show separate storage of clinical materials, blood products or reagents.
