Reporting of Abnormal Smears - Advice from NHSCSP

Dear Assessors

 We have recently received a request from the NHSCSP asking us to reiterate their guidance in relation to the reporting of abnormal smears.

 PLEASE NOTE:

Clinical scientists are no longer permitted to report abnormal smears within the NHS Cervical Screening Programme unless they hold the certificate in advanced practice.

 Please bear this in mind when performing assessment visits.
